To guarantee the safety of its products, ASP undertakes to ensure operational control. This means applying the best hygiene practices, implementing HACCP, and having an effective traceability system. In addition to complying with the regulations, our company is certified to international renowned standards, namely MSC (BRC and IFS ongoing), so that the health control plan is sustainable over time.
The BRC is also recognized internationally as a trailblazing food safety and quality standard. It strengthens our HACCP approach and consolidates an effective food safety management system based on best practices in the sector.
Being MSC certified confirms that our fishery is well-managed and is sustaining the ocean resources for the subsistence of future generations. Hence, we follow three core principles that every fishery must meet. First, the fishing level must ensure it can continue indefinitely and the fish population can remain fertile and healthy. Second, the fishing activity must be managed carefully so that other species and habitats within the ecosystem are not jeopardized. Third, MSC certified fisheries must comply with relevant regulations and adapt to changing environmental circumstances.
Technically, the IFS Food certification helped us set up an effective food safety management system based on best practices in the sector it helps us strengthen our HACCP approach, make us obtain recognition from the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) and meet the regulatory requirements applicable to our products. This has enabled us to enhance our commitment by respecting a demanding set of standards recognized by the main distributors and with a strong reputation.
